What does it mean to be an ESAC-accredited PEO?

It means the nonprofit Employer Services Assurance Corporation has independently verified that we meet or exceed the industry’s highest standards for professional employer organizations. ESAC accreditation benefits many stakeholders: businesses, employees, insurers, state regulators and PEOs.

ESAC Accreditation Process

To become ESAC accredited, PEOs must submit to, and bear the cost of a rigorous, multi-step application process. This process reviews the organization's history, corporate structure, state licensing, and financial statements, as well as confirms that the PEO has made timely required payments of employment taxes, insurance and workers’ comp premiums, and retirement plan contributions. After these assessments, the ESAC Board of Directors may or may not approve the PEO for accreditation.
